Magenta is the new pink

Never was a fan of pink, but magenta? Now you're talking.

I was looking for a pair that wpuld combine comfort with a pop of colour and found it in this VANS pair.

Boots to get you through the season

Every year, start of season, same problem: An ever-ending search for the perfect everyday boots that are not high-heeled, but can still be worn with skirts and dresses while not looking totally frumpy.

This year I found them.

It's autumn already and tootsies are getting cold.

This time around, I find myself moving away from the obvious choice of transitional footwear a.k.a. the ballet flat, and onto more unexpected styles.

Or you could just simplify the whole rational and say I pretty much want to wear shoes with socks. That's kinda important too.

Knock on wood

My first pair of Swedish Hasbeens is here!

If you remember this post, back in spring 2011 I received a pair of red clogs from the Swedish Hasbeens for H&M collection. Well, I wore them to death. Really, they almost fell apart at some point, but I repaired them as I couldn't stand losing them.

Ever since then, I was always looking out for a black pair of the actual thing on sale, since there wasn't a chance in the world I would fork out the full retail price, and I after a while, I scored!

Braided Sky High is one of their most popular designs, according to their official site. It also costs a whooping 190€ to buy full price, which makes me feel particularly efficient, as I managed to score it on sale at ASOS for a discounted 120€.

They are made from all natural materials in Sweden, which means you have to take good care of them, protect them from water, and be prepared to encounter chips on the wood and darkening of the natural leather colours.

This also means that the leather is very stiff in the begining and you must have the patience to break them in. That's why I am now wearing them around the house with thick socks, which is a style I am actually starting to contemplate getting out in the real world too.

This particular style I got is now sold-out on ASOS, but the Braided Low Wedge in black is available for just 115€ and if you wear 36 or 41 you can also find it here for even less. Plus you can always keep checking here to see when one of the current styles will go on sale.

A leopard pony that's actually a cow

Before I make my excuses for the confusing title, let me just say that I'm going through a phase of feeling bored of my usual white background for shoting shoe pictures. Therefore, I'm trying to spice it up by using colourful furniture and other stuff I find laying around at home. Hope you don't mind.

Onto the shoes. Aren't those leopard print pumps amazing?

They are my first animal print shoes to own ever and they're also seriously comfortable to wear.

I wasn't actively going for the pony skin look (which in this case is a figure of speech, as the material these are made of is cowhide) but I found them at the Zara end-of-season sale last February and got them at a ridiculous price.

Speaking of last season, isn't it great that some brands have started marking their products with the year and season of make? I've always loved to remember exactly when I bought a certain thing (it was one of the reasons I started this blog) and that makes it so much easier, even if an item gets passed along to a friend or swapped.

I've already worn them with a forest green dress and I got pics taken that day, so keep coming back for those.

All the 80's classics

Released early this year, the Reebok Classics x Keith Haring Foundation collection is no news anymore, but the fact remains.

And the Freestyle High, already being my favourite Reebok Classics model ever, feels even more special under the Keith Haring treament.

Like Pete Williams said back in January, over at High Snobiety: 

The use of bold primary colours and a range of textures gives the range a graphic feel and a nod to the early 80’s, which was the time that both Haring and Reebok Classic came to prominence - some of Reebok Classics' most loved silhouettes were first introduced around the same time as some of Haring’s most acclaimed work, which gives a nice link between the artists and the brand.

The embroidered number 83 just adds some extra sentimental value for me. It was a good year, if you know what I mean. 

So thanks Reebok, getting these trully means something more for me than just getting a really, really, really cool pair of sneakers.
